Terms & Conditions

  • Driver Requirements - All drivers should be a minimum of 23 years old and should have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a valid driving license.
     
  • Payment - A non refundable 20% deposit is payable at the time of booking (payable by debit/credit card). The outstanding balance is payable  upon collection of the vehicle (this payment is accepted in the form of cash or debit/credit card.
     
  • Insurance Information - All cars are provided with a fully comprehensive insurance with an excess according to the table below. Insurance covers windscreen, tyres and oil sump. The excess is charged per incident, and it is evaluated according to the company's maintenance and repair shops' evaluations. Off road driving is NOT covered, even in cases of NO Excess.
     
  • Collision Damage Waiver - A Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available as an extra, and it is to be paid if chosen at the begining of the rental which will cover the whole rental period. With the CDW there will be €0.00 excess. Driving in the occupied area of Cyprus or offroad, invalidates the CDW, and in such an event, the renter still remains liable for the initial excess amount. The daily rates for CDW are:

  • Occupied area of Cyprus - if you are planning to travel to the occupied territory of Northern Cyprus, then be aware that car hire insurance in Cyprus will not cover you in the event of an accident and/or breakdown and the CDW will be invalidated.
     
  • Fuel - Is not included in the rates. Clients are to pay for either a half or a full tank of fuel at the beginning of the rental, which they use and return the car empty upon the end of the rental period. There are no refunds on fuel!
     
  • Parking & Traffic Fines - All fines incurred during the rental period are the Hirer's responsibility. The company reserves the right to use the Hirer's credit card to pay any outstanding fines.
     
  • Rental Period - Rental days are calculated on a 24 hour basis, from the prearranged time of delivery. If the ending of the rental is 3+ hours from the original delivery time, then an extra day is charged, in accordance to the insurance policy.
     
  • Discounts - Discounts are calculated on the daily rates of each car group. Extras and fuel are not included.
     
  • Liability - Please note that the rental of the vehicle will be subject to the laws of Cyprus. Local laws govern the terms and conditions of hiring vehicles and the rental agreement signed on collection of the car is legally binding on the hirer.
     
  • Cancellations - Cancellations should be made via email on go.rentacar@cytanet.com.cy . Please note that in order to be eligible for a refund this should be done at a minimum of 7 days before the original car delivery date. For more details please read the Refunds section below.
     
  • Refunds - The 20% deposit is non-refundable in any case, however this is transferable to another booking up to 6 months from the original pick up date. If the whole amount (100% of the total cost) has been paid at the time of booking and the customer chooses to cancel the booking, an 80% refund is given, provided that the cancellation is made at least 7 days before the original delivery date.All refunds are given within 15 working days and are credited back to the debit/credit card the payment was made on. If the cancellation is done in less than 7 days before the original delivery date or during the rental period, only 50% of the amount paid for the remaining period is subject to a refund.
  • Airport Bookings - For deliveries at the airports please read the instructions on the Booking Confirmation on how to collect your car. All bookings should be provided with a flight number in order to make sure we are there for you in case of early arrivals or delays. If a flight number is not provided then we will be there at the time selected while booking. Please note that our representative will be waiting for you up to the maximum of 1 (one)  hour and (20) twenty minutes from the time your flight has landed. Unless otherwise informed, via telephone, the booking will be considered a "no-show" and normal Cancellations and Refunds conditions apply. It is always advised to inform us of any changes to your fligh details in advance via email.
  • Last-minute Bookings - Please note that last-minute bookings (made 48h prior to pick-up time) are subject to availability. Car availability might not reflect on the website at the time of booking when this is made in less than the 48h period before pick up time. The company has the right to deny the booking if the car is unavailable and issue a full refund of the booking.
